The Farm

Sustainable Indoor Farming

We’ve built our farm inside a 40ft refrigerated shipping container, known as a reefer. By repurposing this insulated unit, we benefit from excellent thermal performance that helps us maintain consistent, optimal temperatures while significantly reducing energy use.

We carefully control CO2, humidity, and temperature to enable stable production year-round.

We steam steam sterilise our substrate and clean with isopropyl alcohol to ensure we have no chemical build-up in our produce or our environment.

No Pesticides

Low Impact

Designed for low-impact farming

Large, hanging column bags

We use large hanging column bags suspended from stainless steel rails. This approach uses significantly less plastic per kilogram of mushrooms grown than traditional methods, which rely on smaller blocks placed on shelves. It also reduces surfaces where mould can develop, making cleaning simpler and more effective; allowing us to avoid harsh chemical cleaners and rely on alcohol-based sanitation instead.

Sustainability Advisory

I'm Dom, a sustainability consultant with over eight years’ experience helping organisations reduce their carbon emissions and build more responsible, resilient operations. For the past five years, I’ve worked directly with businesses across sectors to turn climate commitments into measurable action.

The mushroom farm is a natural extension of that work — a way to put those same principles into practice. From setting the mushroom blocks to fruiting, harvest and delivery; every part of the process is designed with environmental impact in mind. It’s local, low-carbon, good for you and good for the planet!

This isn’t just consultancy — it’s sustainability in action!
